BHEL won Rs. 5000 crore thermal power project from TSGENCO

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), state-owned power plant equipment manufacturer, has bagged a Rs. 5000 crore worth thermal power project from Telangana State Power Generation Corporation. TSGENCO has awarded this EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) project to BHEL, to set up a 1080 MW project in Khammam district of Telangana.

"Telangana State Power Generation Corporation (TSGENCO) has awarded Bhel with an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) order for setting up a 1,080 MW thermal power plant in the state," BHEL said in a note.

"Valued at over Rs 5,000 crore, the order envisages setting up a thermal plant at Manuguru in Khammam District of Telangana," it added.

The scope of work for BHEL is design, engineering, manufacturing, construction, erection, testing and commissioning of 4 x 270 MW thermal power sets.

BHEL will manufacture the key components in its Haridwar, Ranipet, Jhansi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad plants.

Manuguru thermal power plant will be commissioned in the next 24 months. TSGENCO and BHEL have joined hands to develop thermal power plants with a total capacity of 6000 MW.
